Background

I’ve enjoyed a pretty diverse career so far. I’m a better designer, a more diverse problem solver and, I like to think, a more well-rounded human for it.

I’ve worked on some things I’m really proud of. I’ve learned a lot and I’ve tried to give back.
2016 – now

Makers Empire – Director of UX > Director of Customer Success

By effectively applying human-centered design principles I have helped build Makers Empire from a nascent app to the world’s most fun and easy to use 3D design program, used by elementary school students and teachers around the world to create around 100,000 designs every day.

HundrED Advisory Board Member – Spotlight project on Social Emotional Learning (2021)
Positive Signs project
2007 – 2017

Be Friendly – Director / Founder

I led my own interdisciplinary design studio, specializing in brand strategy, brand development, and ‘out-of-the-box’ projects; everything from business cards to shop fit-outs and street art festivals.

During this time I occasionally worked as a freelance Art Director for several advertising agencies.

Owned and operated Saké Society pop-up bar
Board member of Renew Adelaide for 3 years
Oi You – Big Walls street art festival
2005 – 2007

Shane English School (Japan) – Teacher

I especially enjoyed working with younger students and developing learning materials to make their lessons more engaging and effective.

Painted with Rinpa Eshidan live-art crew
Climbed Mt. Fuji
2000 – 2005

Happy House (Aus/South Korea) – Senior Designer

I designed consumer product lines for a global lifestyle brand with a huge following in South Korea. With our licensee in ROK, I managed every aspect of the production process.

Working in South Korea was awesome! Wanna know why?
